About Joey Cardmaker

Joey Cardmaker

G’day everone, It’s Joey here, spilling the beans about myself.
I’m originally from South London, but I’ve been soaking up the Aussie sun in Australia for a whopping 30 years. First, it was Sydney, but now I’m kicking back on the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.

Picture this: my days are all about salty ocean breezes, vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see, and the occasional friendly moo from the dairy farms. 🌊🍇🐄

Now, let’s talk crafting. I’ve been at it for ages. Back in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, I had the pleasure of rubbing elbows with some seriously talented folks. Shoutout to Donna Williams.

But here’s the twist: I never quite found my groove until I stumbled upon Gayle Agostinelli’s YouTube channel. That lady knows her stuff! Her digital paper wizardry got me hooked, and now I’m whipping up my own digital kits for junk journals, scrapbooking, and card making. I owe so much to Gayle, from the other side of the world she encouraged me to create my very first digital and she has been encouraging and supporting me every since. Thank you Gayle – for everything, but most of all your friendship.

Meeting the Makers

In August 2023, I sat quietly at my desk, the soothing sounds of Philly soul playing in the background. Suddenly, an email from Sue at Paper Inspirations appeared in my inbox—a delightful invitation to be featured in her wonderful “Meeting the Makers” series. Sue offered two options: an interview on her YouTube channel or a feature in her blog. The prospect of going full-face on YouTube filled me with terror, so I opted for the “blog” route. But fate intervened when my talented friend Andrea at Journal the Junk graced the same series that very week. With Andrea’s support and encouragement, I decided to take the plunge. Sue’s warm personality put me at ease, and it was an honor to participate. Thank you, Sue! 🙌📝🎨
