G’day everyone — it’s Joey here!
With spring slowly making its way toward us, I’ve put together a soft and cheerful stuffed‑pocket project built around a painterly Spring Bouquet. This month’s Take & Make is all about gentle seasonal color, fresh florals, and the quiet joy of early spring days 🌸🌿.
Inside the freebie kit you’ll find tulips, daffodils, and snowdrops, along with layered pockets, cards, tiny tuck‑ins, and coordinating ephemera — everything you need to create a sweet little bundle for journals, gifts, or Mother’s Day makes if you are in the UK or Ireland. It’s a lovely one to sit with — light, uplifting, and full of small details to enjoy as you assemble each layer.
📺 The accompanying video on YouTube walks you through the assembly and offers ideas for decorating and personalizing your own version.
📥Where to Find It
The complete kit is waiting for you as a freebie in my Ko‑fi shop — ready to download, print, and bring to life with your own springtime touch.
⭐What’s Coming Next?
You won’t have to wait long for the next Take & Make because in the next couple of weeks I’ll be bringing out an Easter Take & Make Special. It’s quite a big project — a 3‑in‑1 design where you can make three variations of the same piece using different colorways and images. At the moment it’s running to 11 pages, so it’s a bit of a “biggy” for a freebie, but I’m really pleased with how it’s shaping up.
I haven’t settled on April’s Take & Make theme just yet. After all the romance and florals of the past few months, I think we might change gears and do something completely different. We’ll see where inspiration leads.
✂️What’s Happening in the Studio
It’s been a busy, creative month here. I’ve been working steadily on the Take & Makes and the Easter Special, and also keeping up with the Grungy Tag Challenge.
For February’s Grungy Tag “Folded” prompt, I gave myself the extra challenge of doing something both grungy and feminine, which led me to the tragic Miss Havisham from Dickens’ Great Expectations. I developed a distressed concept — aged lace, dusty softened edges, a torn wedding‑veil, and that sense of suspended time that surrounds her character. If you’d like to see how the whole piece came together, you can watch the video here:
I’ve also been working on my Grungy Tag Challenge journal, and I’m really happy with how it’s coming along. I keep meaning to show it in one of the Grungy Tag videos, but there’s never quite enough time — I may have to do a little video just to show where I’m up to.
For March’s prompt, “Three of Something,” I’m continuing the Victorian theme for this quarter but taking it in a completely different direction. Still sketching ideas and playing with possibilities.
And finally — I’ve started brainstorming a special 5,000 YouTube subscriber freebie for when that day arrives. I’m nearing 4,500 now, so it’s still a little way off, but I’d love to create something meaningful for YOU — something to make for yourself. Early days, but the ideas are simmering.
So yes — lots happening, lots to plan, and lots of lovely things to make.
⭐Thanks again for being part of this creative corner. I hope the Spring Bouquet brings you as much joy as it brought me while designing it. Until next time — happy crafting, and may your March be full of gentle moments and beautiful paper.
Joey 😃🦘❤️💐🌼
