Take and Make: YouTube Viewers Choice – Retro Diner Stuffed Folio

G’day everyone — it’s Joey here!

This month’s Viewers Choice has taken us somewhere wonderfully nostalgic — straight into the warm glow of the 1950s Starline Diner. 🍔🥤✨

Enter the doors, be greeted by your waitress, pop a dime in the jukebox 🎶, and take your seat in a cozy booth. From there, the folio unfolds like a little storybook of diner life.

Inside the freebie kit you’ll find diner menu pieces, ketchup and mustard tea cards 🌭🍟, EchoTone record pockets 🎵, chrome accents, and retro tones — everything you need to build your own late‑night diner world. It’s a fun one to sit with, full of color, character, and tiny details that bring the Starline to life.

📺 The accompanying video on YouTube walks you through the assembly and offers ideas for decorating and personalizing your own version.

 📥Where to Find It

The complete kit is waiting for you as a freebie in my Freebie Ko‑fi shop — ready to download, print, and bring to life with your own creative touch.

⭐ What’s Coming Next?

For May’s Take & Make, I’m thinking maybe it’s time for some florals with Mother’s Day approaching. We shall see 🌸🪷😃

✂️ What’s Been Happening in the Studio

It’s been a busy month in the studio! After all the Easter and Spring projects, I knew I only had a couple of weeks to get the Viewers Choice Take & Make done — so it’s been full steam ahead.

For the March Grungy Tag Folio, with the prompt “Three of Something”, I created a flip tag using three different‑sized tags. It was an idea I’d seen Tammy at Lou Frou-frou Studios do the month before, and it sparked a fun direction — the theme ended up being a Sherlock Holmes Mystery. If you’d like to see how the whole thing came together, you can watch the video here.

In my “down time,” I’ve also been working on my special 5,000 YouTube subscriber BIG Freebie Giveaway. I’m about 65% through the design, but I’m making the project as I go — which means lots of fussy cutting… lots. I can’t wait to give this one away so you can all make your own. And if you feel like helping me get to 5,000 by subscribing, that would be wonderful.

I’m also playing around with ideas for April’s Grungy Tag with the prompt Circles. I’ve got a few concepts brewing — now I just need to pull them together. The video should be out next week.

So yes — lots happening, lots to plan, and lots of lovely things to make.

⭐ Thanks again for being part of this creative corner. I hope the Starline Diner Folio brings you as much joy as it brought me while designing it. Until next time — happy crafting, and may your month be full of color, creativity, and beautiful paper.
