G’day everyone .. . it’s Joey here 😀
Stenciled Observations – Ravenswood Observatory 1911
August brings another prompt for the Grungy Tag Challenge 2026, hosted by Lori @pilesofparagraphs — and this month’s theme is “Stenciled.” I have to admit, this one had me completely stumped! After a couple of ideas that just weren’t coming together, I asked my lovely friend Jo @JosephinesCraftRoom to give me a helping hand by suggesting a theme I could do. Her suggestion of astronomy, a scientist and lots of old notes and papers was just the little spark I needed. 🔭
◼️ So for this month we find ourselves at Ravenswood Observatory in 1911, amongst the observations and working papers of astronomer H. L. Weatherly. The tag opens to reveal a rather battered collection of celestial charts, observation notes, old photographs and papers, along with some hidden journaling space.
◼️ For the stenciling, I decided to make my own astronomical plotting stencil from an old suspension file. I used it throughout the project to add some of the grunge.
A huge thank you to Jo @JosephinesCraftRoom for giving me the little push I needed with this one, and of course to Lori @pilesofparagraphs for hosting the Grungy Tag Challenge and continuing to challenge us each month.
Enjoy your week – Luvs ya — Joey ❤️🦘😀
