Painted Thrift: A WWII Story of Necessity Julyās āPaintā prompt for the Grungy Tag Challenge hosted by Lori āŖ@pilesofparagraphsā¬ took me back to the ingenuity of the 1940s.
ā¼ļøThis was an era where necessity turned humble, floral-print cotton feed sacks into everything from Sunday dresses to childrenās aprons. It is a beautiful look at “making do” with what was available.
ā¼ļø To capture that resourceful spirit, I played around with a bit of Gelli plate printing using the baby powder technique to get some patriotic wartime grunge. I thoroughly enjoyed putting this one together! Hope you like it š
